We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to work full-time in our Chicago office to assist our Marketing team. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to gain valuable marketing experience and to contribute to a growing company. The Marketing Assistant will assist in generating and posting content to the company website, blog, and social media channels, so strong communications skills are required.

DMC is an engineering and IT consulting company with a focus on industrial automation. DMC's Chicago office is centrally located near the Lincoln Park, Bucktown, Wicker Park, and Logan Square neighborhoods. It's our goal to maintain an active company culture at DMC, which includes weekly company-sponsored athletic, cultural, and social events. It is also equipped with a ping pong table, gym, roof deck, and a well-stocked office kitchen full of snacks. Currently, the Chicago office is about 90 people strong and growing!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, or related field (Communications, English, Business)
  • GPA: 3.4 minimum

Required Skills:

  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Creating, editing, and publishing website content (i.e. blogs)
  • Interest and proficiency in analyzing and understanding data related to web marketing
  • Social media proficiency (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram)
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently
  • Enthusiastic about learning new things & tackling ambiguous challenges
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Other Skills/Abilities (not required; may be learned on the job!):

  • B2B marketing
  • E-marketing experience (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.)
  • Data analysis
  • SEO/SEM strategy and implementation (Google Analytics and Adwords)
  • Graphic design experience (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • Video editing (i.e. Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Photography
  • Basic HTML/CSS


  • Writing, editing, and formatting website content (i.e. blogs, videos) according to brand/style guidelines
  • Assistance with drafting technical AdWords ads and website landing page copy
  • Maintaining an editorial calendar
  • Planning and contributing to monthly newsletter content
  • Coordinating regular web content writing meetings
  • Analyzing web marketing performance analytics through a variety of tools
  • Sending web content follow-ups and reminders; facilitating content interviews and improvements
  • Writing and scheduling social media channel posts
  • Coordinating the research, order process, and inventory maintenance of branded and promotional items (SWAG)
  • Event planning
  • Basic graphic design, including blog thumbnails
  • Distribution of printed collateral as needed
