Power BI Excel Add-ins

Excel is the development centerpiece of self-service Business Intelligence. This familiar tool is enhanced by four new add-ins that make almost any analysis and visualization possible.  Use Excel to create scorecards and dashboards, then publish the workbooks to SharePoint as the presentation platform.

Excel add-ins we work with:

  • PowerPivot is an in-memory analytics platform capable of creating relationships and quickly processing massive amounts of data. Data models can be created once then re-used for various purposes.

  • PowerView creates interactive reports that bring together data, charts, and graphs into a single dynamic view.

  • PowerQuery connects to online or local data sources, and provides basic extract-transform-load (ETL) capabilities without resorting to custom development.

  • PowerMap creates interactive reports using geospatial data.
