Lab Space at DMC

Sam Weber: So we just got some new lab space, and our new office extension. The newer lab space is pretty similar to our old lab space, but it lets us spread out a lot more. Before, we were really cluttered all together and a lot of our work was merging into one giant project.

Ryan Taylor: The plan currently right now, and it may change, is that we're going to separate into two lab spaces, since we're requiring a good lab space in the second half of the office. We're going to separate anything out that requires three-phase power, so bit PLC racks, VFD, stuff like that, and then we'll have a separate room for electronics, reworks, soldering stations, anything that is more smaller scale than the big P.L.C., three-phase stuff that we work with.

Sam Weber: Our labs are really great, because it lets us do some feasibility testing right on site. We don't have to contract out to anybody. We have some really great sample equipment right here, for example, in vision studies, instead of having to go on site to test stuff out, we can test it right here, and save both our customers, and ourselves time. We've got every tool that you can think of in our lab, very well organized, with labels on every bin, on shelves stacking all the way to the ceiling. Poor Courtney has to climb on three step ladders just to get to the top.

Ryan Taylor: When I'm involved in lab work, it's usually the electronic stuff, so it's going to be nice to spread out and have maybe a little more equipment in there to work with.
