Employee Spotlight Video: Courtney Mitchell

I'm Courtney Mitchell. I'm the Administrative Coordinator at DMC. I work on a really wide range of projects, from accounting to recruiting and animal handling. I brought in my dog for morale boosting. Whiskey's our newest employee. He has about five years of security experience and morale boosting and project management and oversight.

I like the variety of projects that I work on. I like the atmosphere. I really appreciate all the smart people that I work with and all the crazy projects that they work on. Really interesting stuff. Never a dull moment here.

I really enjoy all of our company events. Helps mix it up from day to day, doing accounting and recruiting. I also get to help plan and coordinate several events we did. We did an all-day company meeting that mimicked Ferris Bueller's Day Off, so we ran around Chicago and hit a bunch of different, really exciting spots. We got to have a fun day together.

I like to ride horses. I like to ride bikes. I like to play sports. I like to hang out with the dog. I really enjoy Montrose Dog Beach. I have definitely proven myself to be a crazy dog lady, especially during this interview. But it's a really cool place.

Chicago is a lot more busy. It's a lot more diverse. Virginia is more cozy, but Chicago definitely provides me with more day-to-day challenges, which is what I was looking for. 

I have been trying to pull some green initiatives into our office space, just trying to use less energy. Any little things you can do to reduce your energy use. Also recycling. Really easy to do, and it makes a big difference. We just try to reduce waste and not throw so much away. Find a different use for things
