A client in the water industry wanted to add functionality to an existing product in order to expand into additional markets. They reached out to DMC to analyze their existing design as well as competing products and make recommendations on a development path for future products and features.

DMC's client wanted to redesign their existing product to add functionality, including a touch screen. They hired DMC to analyze their existing design and recommend improvements. This entailed analysis of the market and competing products as well as providing recommendations on design changes to integrate new features and improve the product.

DMC examined the existing electronics board and documented possibilities for cutting costs and improving the design. DMC worked with the client to determine what the future product might entail, including rough costs and business costs as well as future platforms and technologies to integrate. They also identified key portions of circuitry to evaluate. The deliverable was a prototype test bed to allow evaluation of these circuits as well as detailed documentation on design and architecture considerations.

In developing a prototype system for water detection and measurement, DMC provided the client the preliminary stepping stones to implement a new design. The client now has the ability to address internal needs before contracting the entire electronics project. DMC also addressed technical questions at the beginning of the project process, providing a project roadmap and several product design options
