Siemens Programming, Commissioning, Plant Start-Up, & Support for Paper & Pulp Processing Plant

Posted in HMI and SCADA, Manufacturing Automation and Intelligence, PLC Programming, Siemens PLC

Summary

DMC provided Siemens PLC and Siemens WinCC OA programming for a pulp processing plant in the paper and pulp processing industry. This included offline programming, commissioning, plant start-up, and ongoing support.

Solution

The customer chose DMC because of our Siemens platform expertise. DMC worked closely with the customer’s internal engineering team during development and with the client’s operators and maintenance staff during commissioning and startup. We developed functional requirements based on documentation provided by the customer. DMC also designed SCADA screens based off process P & IDs (process & instrumentation diagrams).

This project had a very tight schedule and was a design/build project. DMC used a standard & flexible architecture to develop code rapidly and enabled fast responses to changes made in the field as they occurred. DMC is repeating the process at a second facility.
