Solution

An XYZ table positions the brush under the bristle insertion head while the head is moved up and down by an AC motor. A drill on the right side of the machine creates the holes in one brush while bristle packets are inserted into a drilled brush on the left side of the machine. When the head is up, the table positions itself at the next hole position.  The flat panel HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screen displays progress, batch count, and diagnostic information and allows for modification of the graphically displayed bristle pattern. Switching from one pattern to another takes only seconds. Patterns can be generated on the machine or on another computer and the file can be transferred over network. All machine data is available over  the plant's network.
