Marilyn graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Materials Science & Engineering. In college, she worked on projects including a Segway robot and laser harp. She enjoys taking care of her betta fish, drinking tea, trying to grow vegetables, swimming, soccer, kickball and more.
