Andy graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. He first became interested in control systems during a lab course where he helped develop a fetch-playing robot. He was heavily involved in the university's off-road racing team during college, and now spends his time tinkering with electronics projects, and doing various outdoors activities.
