DMC Dallas Welcome Party with a Night at the Stars

At DMC, we know that building strong relationships outside the office is just as important as collaborating inside it. That’s why we were thrilled to welcome our newest Systems Engineer to the Dallas DMC Office, Pruitt Urbanczyk, with an exciting evening at a Dallas Stars vs. New York Islanders hockey game.

The game was a nail-biter from start to finish, with both teams battling hard on the ice. In the end, the Islanders edged out the Stars with a close 3-2 victory, but the real win was the camaraderie and fun shared among the DMC Dallas team.

Living Our Core Value: “Have Fun”

One of DMC’s core values is simple yet powerful: “Have Fun.” We believe that when people enjoy what they do and who they do it with, great things happen. Welcome parties are one of the many ways we bring this value to life. Every new employee gets to choose an activity for their celebration, and Pruitt picked a hockey game—a perfect choice for an evening of excitement and team bonding.

These events aren’t just about having a good time; they’re about creating meaningful connections. When we step outside the office and share experiences, we strengthen the trust and friendships that make our workplace culture so special.

Pruitt’s Take on the Experience

“I’ve never been to a hockey game before,” Pruitt shared. “I had a great time! It’s always nice to hang out with the people from my office, but this was also a fun opportunity to hang out with another new engineer, Spencer, who was hired around the same time as me and happened to be on-site in the area.”

It’s moments like these that make our Welcome Parties so meaningful. They give new team members a chance to connect not only with their immediate colleagues but also with others across the company.

More Ways We Have Fun at DMC

Welcome Parties are just the beginning. At DMC, we make sure fun is woven into the fabric of our culture through:

  • Monthly Activity Fund Events – From escape rooms to LEGO build nights, these events give team members a chance to relax, recharge, and connect.
  • Holiday Parties – Celebrating together during the festive season is a tradition we look forward to every year. Art galleries, new restaurants and immersive murder mystery themed dinners are anything but typical dull company parties.
  • Team Outings and Social Gatherings – Whether it’s a sporting event, a group dinner, or a creative workshop, we love finding new ways to enjoy time together.

These activities aren’t just perks—they’re part of what makes DMC a great place to work. They help us build a sense of community, foster collaboration, and remind us that the people we work with are not just great at their job, but great people too!

Why It Matters

Creating opportunities for employees to bond outside of work isn’t just about entertainment—it’s about engagement. Studies show that teams that share positive experiences are more collaborative, innovative, and resilient. At DMC, we’ve seen firsthand how these moments translate into stronger teamwork and better results for our clients.

When new employees like Pruitt join our team, we want them to feel welcomed, valued, and excited about their future here. A hockey game might seem like a small gesture, but it’s a powerful way to say: You’re part of the team, and we’re glad you’re here.
