January is a time for fresh starts, new goals, and setting the tone for the year ahead. At the Houston DMC office, we decided to kick off 2026 in a way that perfectly reflects one of our most important core values: Have Fun. And what better way to do that than with a 9-hole round of golf at the beautiful East River 9 course?
Organized by Systems Engineer, Teddy Hoisington, the outing was more than just a game—it was an opportunity to connect, laugh, and enjoy time together outside the office. According to Teddy, “My New Year’s resolution was to get the Houston office to play more golf, and we’re off to a great start!”
Why Golf?
Golf is a sport that combines relaxation, skill, strategy, and as with everything at DMC, a touch of friendly competition. It’s also a great way to step away from screens and spend time outdoors. For our team, it was the perfect setting to strengthen relationships and recharge for the year ahead.
Whether they were a seasoned golfer or picking up a club for the first time, the focus at this outing was on fun, not perfection.

The Green Meets the Board
From the first tee shot to the final putt, the evening was filled with laughter, encouragement, and a few unforgettable moments. Some of us discovered hidden talents, while others… well, let’s just say we kept the course lively!
To borrow from DMC’s infamous quote board, here are a few one-liners from the course:

Core Value in Action: Have Fun
Our company’s core values aren’t just words on a page—they guide how we work and interact every day. Have Fun is about creating an environment where people feel energized and connected, and this golf outing was a perfect example of that value in action.
Taking time to enjoy each other’s company outside the office strengthens our team and makes us more effective when we’re back at work. It’s why each DMC office has a monthly Activity Fund stipend to organize social outings. It’s a reminder that success isn’t just about hitting targets—it’s also about building relationships and enjoying the journey.
Looking Ahead
The golf outing set the tone for what we want 2026 to be: collaborative, positive, and full of moments that bring us together. Teddy’s resolution to get the Houston office playing more golf might just become a tradition—and we’re all on board for that!
A big thank you to Jason, Davis & Sydney, Ray, Andrew, and Teddy for making the Activity Fund outing such a success. Your enthusiasm and team spirit are what make the Houston DMC office such a great place to work. Here’s to more fun, more laughter, and maybe even a few more birdies in the year ahead!
