DMC Joins Digital Manufacturing Design Innovation Institute Membership Program
DMC is proud to announce its membership with the Digital Manufacturing Design Innovation Institute (DMDII), the nation’s newest research and development hub for advanced digital manufacturing.
Headquartered on Chicago’s Goose Island, the DMDII aims to applying cutting-edge digital technologies to reduce the manufacturing time and costs, strengthen U.S. supply chain capabilities, and reduce DoD acquisition costs. As America’s flagship research institute for digital manufacturing technologies, the DMDII will work in both developmental and commercialization capacities to deploy these pioneering technologies across strategic manufacturing industries. The DMDII will apply digital technologies and tools including computer-based simulation, 3D visualization, and analytics to re-envision the entire manufacturing project cycle.
According to the DMDII’s Mission: “The DMDII will transform American manufacturing, fully integrating the digital thread across the manufacturing enterprise to reduce overall manufacturing costs, stabilize and grow the manufacturing industrial base and improve U.S. competitiveness throughout the world.”
As a DMDII Partner, DMC joins stakeholders including multiple tiers of industry members, academic institutions, government entities, non-profits, professional societies, trade associations, and manufacturing networks. We’re excited to have the opportunity to propose and participate in research and development, technology transition, and workforce development initiatives from our Chicago headquarters.
"As a Chicago-based engineering and software development firm, DMC is excited to support technological innovation, economic growth and the sharing of technical information through membership with this one-of-a-kind manufacturing hub," said DMC President Frank Riordan. "DMDII membership is just one reflection of our commitment to helping DMC's clients increase efficiency and productivity through the use of cutting edge techniques and technology."
