Geek Challenge: A Weighty Egg-sercise

During Easter basket arrangement, a mistake is noticed. One peanut-butter filled chocolate egg has been mixed into a group of 11 solid chocolate eggs. Fortunately, it is known that the peanut-butter egg has a different mass than the solid chocolate eggs (which are all the same). Also, a traditional balance scale is available to compare egg weights on. Any number of eggs can be placed on the two plates of the balance, and it will indicate which side is heavier, or if they are the same.

What is the fewest number of weighings that would be required to identify the peanut-butter egg in the worst case?

Is it:
a) 3
b) 4
c) 6
d) I wouldn't weigh them; I have a trained bloodhound who can determine this for me.
