DMC Denver held an Oktoberfest party on September 22, 2016. The Rocky Mountains offered a backdrop comparable to any mountain view in Munich, Germany where so many Oktoberfest revelers were recently participating in their own celebration.
Munich may have just finished their 183rd Oktoberfest, and we’ve had a few of our own, but this year DMC used the opportunity to continue celebrating our 20th Anniversary. It was a wonderful night with lots of beer, delicious food, and the good company of family, friends, and clients.
We filled up on tasty beer brats with sauerkraut, German potato salad, pretzel bites with melted beer cheese, and apple strudel. The menu wouldn’t have been complete without a few Chicago-style hotdogs and all the traditional toppings: yellow mustard, chopped white onions, neon green sweet pickle relish (if it’s any other color green, you’ve got the wrong kind), dill pickle spears, tomato wedges, pickled sport peppers, and celery salt.
Drinks, Caricatures, and Games
What is Oktoberfest without beer? DMC tapped a keg (or three), filled up our very own DMC steins, and enjoyed foamy beers as we watched the sun set. Meanwhile, a caricaturist made rounds to depict us in various Oktoberfest poses. John and Megan Sullivan sported semi-traditional Oktoberfest costumes that offered plenty of inspiration for our artist.
Everyone enjoyed games of bags on the patio and pool in the office. A few party-goers were brave enough to try the Malort we brought with us from Chicago. The Chicago-made spirit is not for the faint of heart and reviews were mixed, but by the end of the night, the bottle was empty.
We had a wonderful evening toasting to our clients, vendors, and friends. Thanks for joining us at Oktoberfest and "prost!"
